Silk stockings

This is a picture of a pair of 14th century silk stockings. They're not knitted (too bad!). Isis, maybe you can use it in your striped fabric research:

The red silk knitted stockings that belonged to Eleonora de Toledo (first half 16th century) are beatiful (and my list of things I'd love to try one day grows longer and longer, I can just picture myself wearing those stockings on a cold dreary night, sitting comfortably on the couch, in front of the fire with a glass of wine ...etc).
